A New Creation
Ghost Eating Priest
Locke was born in the northern city of Whitewall, far away from other cities. For many years she lived in the Midtown under the strict laws of the land, eventually becoming a member of the city guard and clergy. Years passed in general Whitewall-ian fashion before Locke’s mother, her only living relative, disappeared. The woman was gone for months until suddenly reappearing outside the city’s walls, injured and alone. Locke couldn’t leave her mother in that condition and brought her into the city to be treated.
This ended up being a mortal mistake, as the Fair Folk had gotten to her— corrupted her. There was panic and chaos but once the dust settled Locke turned herself in for what she had done. The punishments for such a grave crime are clear: Locke was to be exiled immediately.
Left with only the clothes on her back and the hope of being forgiven by the Syndics in the next life, Locke was surely doomed to die.
But the large woman wasn’t about to give in that easily. For years she fought her way through the wilderness, using the skills learned throughout her life, and- while not exactly flourishing- managed to make her way clear across the north and into the East. It was during this journey that she had a vision, a message from the Unconquered Sun. The king of the gods wanted her to travel south, to go there and to wait until a very certain day. When that day came, she was to go into the city of Nathir and find those like her.
From that day forth Locke began her journey towards the southern city, running into a cult mere days after her vision. The people saw her for who she was, a solar and a near god to them in her former life. They bestowed to her the tools of her past self: A sword, shield, armor, a mystic mask, and a raiton- descended from the one her original self kept in his company. With new tools, and companion, Locke set out into the world to fulfill the Unconquered Sun’s will.
